Care Bags

Homelessness and poverty are rampant issues we want to eliminate by providing basic sanitary and hygiene access to as many in need as possible.

Care Bags were developed through research and brainstorming the most impactful ways we can help. Over 13% of Florida's population is under the poverty line (including nearly 2 out of 10 children), with over 27,000 homeless people. The current cost of a Care Bag is approximately $3.25 per unit, utilizing staff and volunteer labor/storage and transportation of the bags (this will vary as the footprint expands). Our staff and volunteers can support assembling and deploying 1,000 Care Bags per week at this time assuming we have funding in place for the Care Bags.

A typical care bag includes individual 1-gallon plastic bags containing: toothbrush/paste, feminine pads (2), tissues package, bandages (2), plastic rain poncho, socks and sanitizer wipes (3). A handwritten inspirational note along with local emergency/support phone numbers is also included in every Care Bag.
